The recently completed Aemerge RedPak project is an $8 million construction of a new medical waste treatment and disposal facility utilizing the latest in automated technology to treat bio-hazardous waste. The facility converts high-volume, low-density, infectious medical-waste into high-density, sanitized char which can be readily landfilled. The treated metals and glass are recycled and the site achieves up to 95% landfill diversion.
The project included site work, extensive foundations, 4-story structural steel infeed structure, installation of processing equipment, including 103’ long carbonizer, thermal oxidizer, DSI silo, and 5-story pulse jet fabric filters.
Facility Builders & Erectors, Inc. utilized iBEAM cameras not only to keep up with the ground-up project, but also to show the office team and the client daily progress of the project construction. Going forward, project photos and time-lapse movies will be used to provide future clients with an overview of this unique project.
